We started at the 1st Street Bridge (well, under the bridge) where street art abounds. Then climbed to Hollenbeck Park and on to Boyle Heights. Public murals at the Hollenbeck Junior High School and Roosevelt High brightened the already sunny day. At the Evergreen Cemetery, we encountered friendly folks who advised us where the bathrooms were, how to get to Mariachi Square, where the always open cemetery entrance could be found. After a march of some 8 miles, we finally indulged in 4 Star dining at the El Serenata de Garibaldi restaurant where the chef did magical things with fish!
Some pictures. Sorry, we were too hungry to photograph the food!
