Rainy day flowers

With our  trusty black umbrellas, we walked in the rain in Rancho Cucamonga and discovered the  Etiwanda Preserve had jumped the gun on May flowers!

There were fields of yellow deer weed and a hillside of pink penstamon along Day Creek.   Lupin, western wallflower, chia, sage and even a bush of hairy phlox.  Pictures can’t do justice to the acres and acres of color, but here they are:
